On stage with the Berliner Symphoniker

15th March, 2016

It was a Special Edition of our Casual Concert series last Tuesday. And what a treat it was! Five of our most gifted students rehearsing and performing jointly with three professional musicians of the Berliner Symphoniker.

It all started at 1.30 in the afternoon with three hours of intense rehearsals of works by Handel, Bach, Haydn and two contemporaries of our time, György Kurtág and La Monte Young, followed by the concert itself: There, they were on stage forming a real chamber orchestra of 4 violins, 2 clarinets and 2 cellos producing a sound quality out of our school world – yet right within! Applause to Karen Lang (violin), Benjamin Walbrodt (cello) and Alexander Glücksmann (clarinet) from the Berliner Symphoniker, as much as to our students Florence, Tara, Sung-Il (violins), Sung-Eun (cello) and Alex (clarinet).
