BCS U16 Girls Basketball Team Shines in Lisbon – 2nd Place at Easter Cup 2025!
What an unforgettable week for the U16 Girls Basketball Team of Berlin Cosmopolitan School! Over the Easter break, our players traveled to Lisbon for a fantastic preseason and tournament experience powered by playgroundnetworks – and came home with a well-deserved 2nd place at the Easter Cup 2025.

After arriving a few days before the tournament kicked off, the team made the most of every opportunity: beach jogging sessions in the morning, intense training blocks, and no fewer than seven games against top teams from Portugal and other European countries.

Among the highlights was a dramatic friendly match against Sporting Lisbon, ending in a 42:42 draw after overtime. In a rare twist, the game was decided by free throws – narrowly lost by just one point.

The tournament itself brought even more excitement. After strong performances in the group stage and semifinals, our girls reached the final, facing Sporting CP once again. It was a tight and thrilling game that went into overtime – but this time, Sporting took the win with a narrow 39:36.

Aside from the basketball action, the team enjoyed some well-earned sightseeing in the beautiful city of Lisbon, creating unforgettable memories both on and off the court.
We’re incredibly proud of our team – their energy, discipline, and team spirit were simply inspiring. And who knows? Maybe we’ll return to Lisbon for Easter 2026 – and this time, perhaps with our boys’ team as well!
