Grade at Gläsernes Labor

On Thursday, 12^th of September 2019, the 12th grade students of Abitur Grundkurs Chemistry visited Gläsernes Labor in Berlin Buch to conduct hands-on chemistry experiments dealing with the topics of pigments and colorants. They synthesized colorants that belong to different structural groups, such as AZO dyes, carbonyl dyes (Indigo), phtalocyanine dyes and methylene blue pH indicator.  In addition, students were given the possibility to synthesize fluorescein, which they enjoyed very much due to its visual effect in UV light.
