BCS Music Department Kicks Off 24/25 Season with Unforgettable Concert!
The Berlin Cosmopolitan School Music Department opened the 24/25 season last week with a spectacular concert that wowed the entire BCS community! Featuring performances from two of our school orchestras, the advanced guitar ensemble, and the lively Jazz Band, this event showcased the passion, talent, and hard work of our student musicians, all supported by our dedicated music teachers: Bridget Kinneary, Joey Ryan, Collin Lloyd, and Ben Salsbury.
Listeners were treated to a wide-ranging repertoire, including a nostalgic guitar cover of the Backstreet Boys’ hit “I Want It That Way,” which had the audience singing along. The Jazz Band captivated with their rendition of Stolen Moments, a jazz standard that highlighted our students’ individual talent with dazzling solos. And in a thrilling homage to contemporary composers, the orchestras performed Mambo by Lauren Bernofsky—a piece that brought vibrance and energy to the stage (and yes, Lauren Bernofsky, feel free to follow her on social media!).
The entire BCS music team, including Bridget, Collin, and Ben, couldn’t be prouder of the dedication shown by our young musicians, who worked tirelessly both in ensembles and individually to bring this concert to life. At BCS, we are deeply committed to fostering a love for music in every student, encouraging everyone to learn an instrument and, from an early age, play together in ensembles. These experiences create lasting musical memories and build skills that go beyond the classroom.
Here’s to another inspiring season of music at BCS!
