Visiting the studio of Tomás Saraceno

Our Grade 11 Leistungskurs Bildende Kunst Abitur students and Higher Level IBDP Visual Arts students had the wonderful privilege of a personal tour of Studio Tomás Saraceno’s last week.

Tomás Saraceno is an internationally renowned Argentinian artist who works with large scale complex, architectural constructions as well as other interactive and experimental pieces. Tomás collaborates with specialists from many different fields, such as architecture, engineering and arachnology, to produce his works.

Our most exciting moments were passing the 3D printers in action and getting to see the 3D spider web collection, the largest and only one of its kind in the world. We learned some interesting things about the habits of spiders.
