Grade 4 (2016-17) – Urban Planning

For the urban planning unit, students worked very closely between classroom and art room, producing plans on paper of an imagined town before transferring that into the form of a 3d model.

After studying the composition of a number of towns and cities, various zones, functions and building types were identified as common and important. Small groups worked on different parts of the plans, painting the land, sea and roads, then constructing buildings – painted according to their function as defined on a legend – trees, bridges and other details.
